Ruth Lee Ewing Hancock was born on February 19, 1931, in Henderson, Kentucky, to the late Rev. Charlie Ewing and Mary Williams. She peacefully departed this life on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at the age of 95, at Red Banks Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family.
She professed her hope in Christ at an early age and united with Greater Norris Chapel Church, where she faithfully served in the Nurses Guild and the Priscilla Circle.
Ruth was a deeply loving woman, kind to her core, had the sweetest spirit, and always treated others with the utmost respect. She cherished spending time with family and friends and especially enjoyed cooking. During her time at Red Banks Nursing Home, Ruth could often be seen traveling the hallways in her wheelchair, greeting others and sharing her warm presence with those she encountered each day.
Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Rev. Charlie Ewing and Mary Williams; granddaughter, Rochelle Woods; sisters, Hallie Juniel, Mary Nash, Minnie Jones, and Gertrude Rankin; and aunt, Amanda Garrett.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her daughter, Rosa Woods; her granddaughter, Monica Woods; and her beloved niece, Connie Moore, whom she loved as a daughter. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with her.
Ruth's life was a testament to love, kindness, and respect for others. Though she will be deeply missed, her loving spirit and cherished memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
