Listen to Obituary

Pierre Lamont Lynch transitioned from Earth to Eternity on August 3, 2026, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. He was born to Roger William Lynch, Sr. and Elizabeth Farries Lynch on April 12, 1957, in Evansville, IN.

Pierre grew up attending Liberty Baptist Church with his parents and siblings, where he accepted Christ at an early age. He was educated in the Evansville public school system, graduating from North High School.

A few years after high school, Pierre enlisted in the United States Air Force. In addition to Terre Haute, IN, he received military training and Security Specialist training in Topeka, Kansas, and Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. Pierre was an MP until he was honorably discharged at the end of his enlistment.

Following somewhat in the footsteps of his mother, Elizabeth, a respected cosmetologist and businesswoman, Pierre attended barber school and became licensed in Indiana. He served the community as a barber, working in the family business for more than 30 years until his health declined.

Pierre looked forward to spending time with his friends, laughing and cutting up, but he treasured his time with his family, especially his children. He loved to take them fishing and truly enjoyed going out to eat at every opportunity. He had a special relationship with food; he didn’t cook it, but he loved to eat it. Pierre’s children often characterized him as a great father but an even better friend.

In his spare time, Pierre watched the NBA on television, especially his favorite team, the Golden State Warriors. He developed an appreciation for Jazz from his father, Roger Sr., who was quite the Jazz aficionado. Pierre would listen for hours.

In addition to his parents, Pierre was preceded in death by his brother, Roger, Jr., with whom he had a special bond and mutual understanding of brotherly respect.

He leaves to cherish his memory children, Crystal Lynch, Lamarko Lynch, and Kiera Gathings; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Marcia Lynch Duncan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his long-time girlfriend, Denic Black.
