Manual Seargent was born on December 4, 1952, in Madisonville, Kentucky, to the late James Civils and Constance Hawkins McReynolds. He peacefully departed this life on Monday, October 26, 2026, at his home.
Manual was a lifelong member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where he was affiliated with the church from childhood. He received his GED and went on to attend Hopkins County Vocational School where he studied to be a mechanic. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. After his military service, he dedicated many years of hard work to Goodyear Tire & Rubber where he was employed as a factory worker. Manual was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He had a love for basketball and enjoyed watching games on television. When he wasn't cheering on his favorite teams, he could often be found enjoying some of his favorite pastimes, including fishing, grilling, and tending to his beloved tomato garden. He especially cherished the time spent enjoying these activities and making memories along the way. He was also a proud member of American Legion Post 161 in Madisonville, Kentucky until it closed. Manual enjoyed time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, his siblings, Charles Seargent, Leroy Morris, Bray Morris, Curtis Seargent, and Barbara Gains.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Alexander Seargent, Felicia (Robert) Pertillo; siblings, Jennifer Civils and James Seargent; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his former wife, Glenda McGlond; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Though he has departed this earthly life, the love he shared and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
