Lawrence Anderson, Jr.

Lawrence Anderson, Jr., age 62, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2026. Born on January 4, 1964, in Miami, Florida, he was the beloved son of Mary Louise Spann and Lawrence Anderson, Sr.

A dedicated and hard worker throughout his life, Lawrence was known for his playful spirit and his quick wit—he loved nothing more than picking and joking around with those he cherished most. He had a deep appreciation for good music and cars, and in his free time, you could often find him watching airplane documentaries or taking a trip to explore the local hardware store.

Lawrence grew up surrounded by a large and affectionate family as one of nine siblings. He was preceded in death by his cherished brothers and sisters: James, Alonzo, Christine, Jerry, and Valerie.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 11 years, Vanessa. He leaves behind a proud legacy through his daughters, Talima (Anthony) Terrell, Ashley Anderson, and Dyeshera (Rolf) Carriere, as well as his stepdaughter, Ashley (Stephen) Anderson.

Lawrence was the loving grandfather of Michael Norris, Jr., Makhai Laguerre, Liam Laguerre, Jean-Pierre Carriere, Londyn Carriere, Denasia Johnson, Maddox Anderson, and Aria Anderson. He is also survived and fondly remembered by his siblings Patricia, Linda, and Kenny; his brother-in-law John (Ann) Holmes, Jr., sister-in-law Sheila Holmes; his nieces Brandi Holmes and Priya Holmes; along with a host of extended family, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
