Listen to Obituary

Charles Earl Stewart Sr., affectionately known to many as “Stew Baby”, lived an outgoing, energetic, and full of joy life. He embraced every moment and never missed an opportunity to appreciate the world around him. On October 16, 2026, Charles was called home to be with the Lord, entering into eternal rest.

A man of strong work ethic, Charles served his community through his work with the City of Evansville and various local factories, always taking pride in a hard day's labor. As a veteran of the United States Military, he served his country honorably before returning home to focus on what mattered most to him: his family.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Hersity Stewart Sr.; his mother, Jeanette Jenkins-Stewart-Benton; and his brothers, Hersity Stewart Jr., Michael “Iron Mike” Stewart, and Damon Stewart.

He leaves behind an enduring legacy of strength, warmth, and love. He is survived by his children, Shawn Stewart, Tracy Stewart (wife, Melinda), Charles Stewart Jr. (wife, Shari), and Angela Stewart; and his devoted fiancée, Sandra Mears, with whom he shared a deep and unwavering bond; his brothers, Jerome Stewart and Anthony “Tony” Stewart. He also leaves behind Sandra's children, Stephanie Warfield and Roger Rogers, whom he loved as his own. His memory will be forever cherished by a rich blessing of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with a host of extended family members and dear friends who will always hold “Stew Baby” close in their hearts.
